Iraq

We'll give Iraq 1 week....
We'll give Iraq 1 day....
We'll give Iraq 1 hour....
We'll give Iraq 1 minute....
We'll give Iraq 1 second....
We'll give Iraq 1 millsecond....
We'll give Iraq 1 nanosecond....
We'll give Iraq .1 nanoseconds....
We'll give Iraq .01 nanoseconds....

Am I the only one that feels this way??? I'm not a big hawk-just get this out of the news! Sure as hell isn't good advertisement for the foreign service is it? Diplomacy is bbbooorrriiinnngggg....

Ironicaly, your post highlights the great disparity between the "english" and metric (i.e. france) systems of measurement, which I think is the underlying cause the franco-american conflict. Thank goodness we get to use the decimal system for time units smaller then the second. Maybe the french aren't always wrong.

Secondly I think you give saddam to much time, a lot can happen in 10 pico seconds. I think a deadline of 1 femto second (10^-15) is better, it's close to the intrinsic minimum amount of time it takes for an electron to respond to an incident electric field...

give him 0.11 seconds or so, which is about the fastest possible reaction time for a human.

When did the news stop reporting what *has* happened in favor of what *might* happen? Reaction times seem to have gone into the negative numbers...

Hey, look at thte bright side: this whole thing will be able to serve generations of college students as a lesson in Zeno's paradox...

Anyone read Pat Buchanan's article in the American Conservative about the heavy Jewish influence towards going to war with Iraq? Does anyone see any truth in it, or is this just more crap to pile onto Buchanan's flirtation with antisemitism?
