Pretty baby
Dienekes has a prety provocative post on attractiveness (everyone has an opinion on this topic....).

I find that perfect face somewhat attractive, but i doubt that this girl would make me turn my head in the street. She is attractive indeed, but in an extremely and i mean *extremely* bland and generic way (It might have to do with her being a computer construct) . Also her chin is just wrong ! It should be either rounder or more pointed but that intermediate state is not too good. The unattractive face is only relatively so . I find that woman very average looking, and not especially ugly . For the guys : Try as i might, i just can't seem to conform to the "regular" ideals of beauty. Whenever i'm with the friends and they point out some "hot chick", it's usually some hollywood/playboy pin-up wannabee and i'm sooooo bored by those kinds of girls ! I thought deeply about it and it's not some kind of rationalizing on my part " because i couldn't date them" or anything like that. from a hbd standpoint, Just whose pictures were chosen ? The study seems to originate from germany (according to a post on ..errm ..stormfront). Did they include a wide variety of european faces (at the very least) or did they restrict themselves to germans (they all look pretty german except for the attractive girl who looks very very meditteranean ) . Including a lot of russian girls would have probably produced a more paedomorphic face, just for starters . I think a great attractiveness study should be carried along this idea : I wonder if Dienekes carried this story because the attractive girls turns out to look very Greek/Italian :) ? >> I wonder if Dienekes carried this story because the attractive girls turns out to look very Greek/Italian :) ? Well, that's what the Germans like. It's a rather strange coincidence that the characteristics of the attractive face are a close match to how another German, Egon v. Eickstedt used to describe the Mediterranean Race more than sixty years ago. Posted by: Dienekes at July 25, 2003 02:51 PM"Well, that's what the Germans like. Oddly enough (or perhaps not at all odd) I found the Indian girl in your link a lot more attractive than the French-Moroccan-Canadian one. I'd guess it's the smooth skin tone and the "babyfaced" features that do the trick. That Indian girl would certainly turn heads anywhere there are hot-blooded males about (Note to self: "you can stop drooling now" ...) Posted by: Juvenal at July 25, 2003 04:58 PMThe 'unattractive' faces are not that unattractive because the only bad elements they have are some suboptimal proportions - the program did not introduce tell-tale signs of age, ill health, or mental instability that are common in the real world. I can't say I found the 'attractive' female face very attractive, though it was certainly better than the unattractive one. I like blue eyes, blond or red hair, and not quite so much vertical distance between the mouth and eyes as that face showed... Posted by: bbartlog at July 25, 2003 05:53 PM |
