I thank Allah I was born a man

A strict Muslim who slit his daughter's throat because he believed she had become too Westernised pleaded with a judge yesterday to sentence him to death. Read the full story from the link-it's wack. And what's up with Kurds? Fadime, shot by her father in Sweden, was also Kurdish....

Zarife, a 18-year old Turkish girl living in the town of Almelo in the Netherlands (the same town where the current Turkish Miss World, Azra Akin (http://cft.fis.uc.pt/eef/holland.htm), who grew up in the Netherlands, is from) was recently killed with a shotgut by her father during a "holiday" in Turkey, and for pretty much the same reason. Now the Turks and the Kurds are not always the best of friends - but there seem to be some cultural similarities.

Quote from "The Duke" on ICQ.com:

"18 year old Zarife from Almelo murdered in Turkey by her Father

Zarife (18) Lived in Almelo with her family up until about 6 months ago. She had ben advised by local Dutch police to seek shelter elsewhere after violent family arguments stemming from Zarrife's refusal to wear a Chador or Head scarf while attending her college classes at the R.O.C. College in Almelo the Netherlands , and for conflicts concerning other Islamic child rearing methods.

Her family (father and brothers ) had begun a manhunt for her with the help of some friends out of the local Turkish community. The Goal : To restore the Family honor ..

After an exhaustive search the Father had succeeded in locating Zarrife who was then staying in a family crisis asylum center under the care of the Steunpunt Minderheden Overijssel S.M.O. ( Minority support organisation Overijssel ).

The father entered the facilitie with the brothers of Zarrife and forced her under threats of death to leave the the center , after which she refused and was then forcibly abducted.

Zarrife was taken out of Holland and flown to Turkey under the guise of a family vacation , with father and brothers on all sides she had no chance to call out to airport officials for help .

She was focibly flown back to Ankara where after one final attempt to bring her back to the fold of Islam resulted in argument after which her father shot her to death with a 12 guage shotgun.

For the father of Zarife this is not the first time that he has had his hand in Islamic Family Retribution Killings , a boy who was attending the same school and classes as Zarife had been previously brutally beaten and molested by her father, and brothers and had shortly thereafter committed suicide."

Why pick on Kurds?

According to the article in the Independent, three of the four other such recent outrages were committed by immigrants from Pakistan and India.

Heres another one recently committed in Britain:

There was a US case like this in St. Louis sometime in the last 10 years. The fact that we're at a point of graphing statistics on things like this indicates that we really do have a problem. So score one for GNXP.

Palestina 'Tina' Isa, and the reason they nabbed her parents was because the house was bugged by the FBI. They taped the entire episode & it was played to the jury. The sisters completed supported the parents and said that the jury didn't understand Palestinian culture. Tina was quite brilliant, took hard science courses, had a black boyfriend, and so she had to be killed.

There's nothing genetic about this, though, other than the fact that religion, like many other sociological traits, is usually (culturally) inherited. Last I heard, there was no such thing as a gene for either Islam or "honor killing."

Still, this is barbaric, and makes me look at Islam with even more of a jaundiced eye than I already do. Whenever I hear that "religion of piece" stuff I want to puke. I think it is true that there is a connection between educational accomplishment and religious fanaticism, so one benefit of a more talents-based immigration policy would be to keep the sorts of under-educated fanatics who carry out such barbarities out of the country.

"i thank God i was born a man" is actually a prayer that Jews are required to say at certain times. perhaps you knew this already and hence the title.

as for the Kurds I suspect that they are a very close relative of the Jew as both are probably related to the ancient Hittites.

The Jew-hating Acheson is correct that Orthodox Jews utter such a prayer, but I don't recall any substantiated evidence for honor killings among them within the recent past.

It will also please Acheson to know that a Y-Chromosome study published in AJHG by Jewish authors (among other ethnicities) found a link between Jews and Kurds. However, his Hittite blather is as yet unsubstantiated, as are his past comments about Jewish stupidity and evil, at least by any reputable source.
