GNXP reader Luke Lea has suggested that I switch from the appellation "Western" to "Modern." I think I'll do it, because I think that my definition of "Western" includes (more or less) geographically, and culturally, non-Western peoples such as the Japanese and Taiwanese, who are not organic outgrowths of "the West."
