Communication via anus

The frontiers of science keep expanding. New research indicates that bubbles observed coming out of a herring’s anus produce a high pitched noise that may aid in keeping the shoals together after dark.

    As to the implications of this research, don’t ass me, but the adjectival “herring-like” may well become a popular, if somewhat obscure, bit of invective in the blogosphere.

    Katy, aside from the fact that acronyms are generally capitalized, the “g” certainly should be.

    Martin, I believe the phrase you want is “herring-impaired”.
