In the spirit of the games, Daniel MacArthur has an extensive post up on ACTN3 and the genetic endowments of elite sprinters. Well worth a read.

    Yes, a good article. It only concerns one aspect of sprinting & genes. 
     
    “Olympic sprinters, essentially, are those unlikely individuals at the vanishing edge of the probability distribution for whom nearly every genetic coin has come up heads.” 
     
    Something tells me that persons of W. African ancestry are more likely to have every genetic coin come up heads. 
     
    I’ve never seen a white man with anything like Usain Bolt whiplike muscular functionality. I see black men built something like him every day.
