Don't be a douche, how was I supposed to know they'd have her naked? I suppose I should have put myself in French mode rather than American mode. I based my assumptions on previous searches for Soledad that didn't turn up naked pics.
I give her face 4 sigmas and the part of her body I saw ~2.

She has the face going for her but what does her body look like?
My Wikiddiction
Wiki has killed my productivity at school. I have to go to the library if I want to get any work done without constantly looking things up on Wiki. I'm lucky that I don't have a laptop to bring along with me. The only problem is, I do theory and computation and often need access to Mathematica.
At least Wiki is educational. I've recently started visiting the fictional wikis. Memory alpha for Star Trek, Wookiepedia for Star Wars, Uncyclopedia for parodies of everything. My television can't compete with the productivity killing powers of the internet.

Heights of daredevils: shorties get the girls
Shouldn't we be comparing their average to the average of other dominant men?
Salaam
Better ignorant friendliness than prejudiced belligerence.
High Sensitivity Test
I too sleep with a fan on and a noisemaker, usually on the waves setting.
How many of us that are sensitive to other people's emmotions actually feel sympathetic?
I'm very good at reading someone's mood by their tone, eyes and body language but I usually don't want to help them if they're distressed. Take it like man is what I think, even if they're female. However, I will alter my actions to maximize my benefits from their current mood.

GOOD JOBS FOR AVERAGE AMERICANS
For someone around the average
Electrician, plumber, etc
You can do quite well in these trades, the biggest problem is that many of the people who go into them have low impulse control and end up screwing themselves.
~1 sigma
Pharmacy
Government restriction of this profession pushed salaries way above market levels.
~1.5 sigma
Dentistry or pharmacy
same as above
2 sigmas and up
Tax and financial law
Of course, the money is where the money is.
If I could start over, I would get a B.A. in finance and/or economics and go on to my J.D. specializing in financial law. I have a B.S. in chemistry and a B.S. in physics and am currently a Ph.D. student in physics specializing in theoretical and computational quantum chemistry. My plan is to work in quantitative finance.

The Economist
Not unless you have money to waste. Just pay a local college kid 20 bucks for his library id # and use it to access The Economist, WSJ, etc.
Addling the Brain
I can confirm that LSD induces sound-color synesthesia. I haven't touched the stuff since high school but I did a lot back then and synesthesia was a big part of the experience for me.
Math = conservative, Verbal = liberal
You need to define those terms. The common American usage of "liberal" has little to do with liberty, and many of the neocons care little for conserving tradition.
Hobbit News
Has everyone forgotten brain mass/body mass?
What is the Good Society?
Liberal society.
Drowning disparities – Part II
I looked through the actual article briefly but could not find any data for swimming rate by race/ethnicity. It would be interesting to see if some of the disparities could be explained by this factor. Also, I would think Hispanics in this country would naturally be better swimmers (not competitive though) than blacks and whites. Hispanics tend to have more body fat and those of us who are mestizo usually inherit the long torsos that good swimmers have.
This study is of personal interest to me; I'm Hispanic and I can swim like a fish.

Skin color & sexual selection
What I get from this is that females have a slight preference for darker skin but males have a strong preference for lighter skin and are more likely to be the ones making the choice.
Vulva – The Perfume
If I walk up to a woman and I can already smell it, you can bet I'm not going to pursue that any further.
Thomas Friedman: Brains vs. Language
"He told me they opened their research center in China by giving IQ tests to 2,000 Chinese around the country, Ph.D.s and engineering students, recommended to them, and out of those 2,000 they basically chose 20 to open the research center in China."
They could've done better. Chances are many of the rejected candidates had slightly lower IQs but were much more creative. I think once you reach a certain level of intelligence, other factors determine innovative success.

Bastions of Liberalism
"I'm sure that few would dispute the claim that our elite universities are bastions of liberalism."
I dispute that. These people can't really be called liberals, they've usurped the name but they bear little resemblance to classical liberals. Leftist statists is a more appropriate name.

PLOS Genetics is open for business!
The irrelevance of this 99%( based on the level of DNA sequence) for a wide range of behavioural differences is analysed here for dogs and wolves:

" Despite the relatively recent divergence time between domestic dogs (Canis familiaris) and gray wolves (Canis lupus), the two species show remarkable behavioral differences. Since dogs and wolves are nearly identical at the level of DNA sequence, we hypothesize that the two species may differ in patterns of gene expression
...
This study indicates that rapid changes in brain gene expression may not be exclusive to the development of human brains. Instead, they may provide a common mechanism for rapid adaptive changes during speciation, particularly in cases that present strong selective pressures on behavioral characters"
Obviously, the selective pressures on behavioral characters were very strong in the last milennia for the humans beings and probably differents for the differents populations.

Young American
My experience with White-Hispanic couples is that the Hispanics in these couples are usually "whiter" than the average. The people in my family range from phenotypically Caucasian to phenotypically Amerindian, though few are pure. My relatives who are dating or married to non-Hispanic whites are whiter than the norm in my family. I can usually pick out white Hispanics that most people would miss and I notice this same trend in other couples. Many of the Hispanics in these couples would just fly under your radar as an Italian. My friend recently introduced his Colombian girlfriend to his Sicilian/Italian family, they loved her; she looks just like they do.
