Interracial marriage and Asian Americans

  • I think the data would be MUCH more skewed if you were looking at DATING disparities.

Family pressures, as well as the need to marry someone with a decent job, generally forces women to look more towards their own kind for marriage.

However, asian males can still be frustrated in the dating game, as their women date white guys, even if they ultimately marry asian.

It's nearly impossible to do that kind of analysis. However, I think Columbia did a study on dating preferences some time ago that reconfirmed the racial gaps. And the study could not have been biased by importation of spouses or family abroad.
  • Important New York Times Article

  • GC is right. This could very well be one of the most important articles ever in the NY Times. It's #3 in most emailed articles, and appearing on the front page of the Sunday edition ensures it will get a large readership.

    Congratulations to GNXP.

Now we only have to have faith in the inherent decency of the American people to make sure the policy implications of this do not lead to anything terrible.
