In September 1935, the German government passed the Reich Citizenship Law which effectively limited citizenship of Germany to only those of "German and related blood who through their behavior make it evident that they are willing and able faithfully to serve the German people and nation." Jews and other non Germans were reclassified as aliens and denied German citizenship.

The Blood Protection Law, proclaimed on the same day, forbade all sexual relations between Germans and non Germans, based on citizenship. This effectively forbade marriages between Germans, Jews and Nonwhites alike.

To address the issue of already existing marriages and children, the law defined a Jew as a person who had two (out of the four) Jewish grandparents - less than that and the person was classed as a German, and allowed to marry other Germans - a Nazi concession to the fact that many European Jews were to all practical purposes European in racial make-up.

In fact, the Blood Protection Law specifically forbade such "one quarter Jews" from marrying other "one quarter Jews" - this was done to promote the further dissolution of Jewish genes, conversely to prevent the strengthening of any Jewish gene pool in Germany which might result from such unions.

In China on the other hand there are only about 60 ethinic groups while the largest group the Han Chinese are 90% while in India the largest group (Hindi speakers) make only about 33% of the population at the most. However though the Indians in Guyana, Figi have not turned their nations into Singapore's or Taiwan's, they have had no problem dominating the black population there. In Guyana, blacks and Indians have different political parties and relations both the communities are tense at best. I agree with Ikram, that Bombay or Mumbai pulls up the state per capita income (Do not forget the prosporous city of Pune or Poona). Talking about Bombay, the Gujrathi community is really strong here. Indeed Bombay may have more Parsees than Gujrat itself. So large and prominant is the Gujrathi community there that in the Universites in Bombay along with English, Hindi and the local language of Marathi, Gujrathi is taught too. (No other non-Marathi local language is given so much importance). The owner of the company where my dad works is Gujrathi too and they do own a lot of businesses here. Besides Rajib do you know about the Chinese community in Calcutta?

I really do not think that Indian women really prefer dark men. In many of the marriage adds I have come across, many women tend to specify "clean shaven convent educated fair men only". However it is not as cronic as the guys here. In my college the fairest tallest Punjabi, Kashmiri guys always got the best chicks and were more popular among the lasses. I mean check out the actors in Indian movies, they tend to be lighter than most average Indians.

Besides as far as I know, Indian guys though find European women quite attractive (and African women normally unattractive unfortunately), they do not tend to have a low opinion about Indian women or consider them uglier than European women. Indeed many a times I hear many Indian guys say that Indian women are the most beautifull in the world (And Indian women have the noumber of Miss World-Universe tittles to back that up). Many of my friends (trust me thats a huge number) tend to comment (normally in the theaters while watching Hollywood movies) that they find dark haired White lasses more attractive than the blonde chicks.(I am sure this would sound strange to many guys in America). But I do agree that there is a strong desire for fairer women here, real strong. Indeed the only reason why many guys watch the boring PTV (Pakistan Television) aired here is to watch some of those extremely fair Punjabi-Sindhi Pakistani babes.

I think very few Brahmins went to S.E.Asia. Most of the S.E.Asian Indians may belong to the lower castes whose traditional role has been that of labourers. The richest guy Ananda Krishnan sounds like a Tamil Brahmin.
Besides the Chinese in Singapore are very similar to the Anglo Saxon Whites in Australia and New Zealand. I mean Indians might the most proporous guys in say Guyana, but they did not help convert Guyana into a first world nation. Mauritius (Indians 55% and most came from the poor backward Northern states of Uttar pradesh and Bihar) might be the closest thing Indians did to build a prosporous world country from scratch. But Mauritius is no Singapore or Australia.
