Beyond that, I wanted to mention that IMHO the "getting political" post provides evidence in favor of the PC suppressors of information. Even a site like this appearently attracts significant neo-nazi attention, and they come crawling out of the woodwork when someone mentions Israel. When such people are no longer numerous, or when their possible target audience, whites, are a minority, racial honesty will be a possible policy. Until then it will not be.

You don't need unlimited technology for men to make their own eggs, they can probably do so NOW. Look at the recent research at UPenn where adult stem cells from male mice were differentiated into unfertilized eggs.

I've lived in the US and in Costa Rica, and have spent time in Jamaica and Bermuda. Although I will accept Neitzsche's claim that African Americans are better off than African Africans, IMHO Afro-Carribians have a better overall lifestyle, expecially level of education, articulation, and amiability than African Americans have. Africans in Bermuda have a higher median income and to me a much "better" culture than those in the US. African Americans also have shorter life-expectancies than Africans in the Carribean and in Bermuda.

Water and air have a substitute; filters, though I'd hate to live in a world where we become too dependent on them. Hydroponics, algae-farming, vegetarianism, etc are substitutes for topsoil, though expensive or unappealing. Nanotech is an appealing but long-term substitute. We would be foolish to rely on nano-synthesized foods this century. Better crop varieties, either from GM or traditional breeding are short-term substitutes. Finally, more effecient economic systems can substitute to the degree to which they prevent waste, as can better refrigeration, etc. a wierd thought. Sooner or later there will be real medical treatments that allow you to eat all you want without gaining weight. When that happens, the rich nations will start eating a LOT more, driving up (at least in the short term) the cost of food that the poor depend on.

She didn't even say how strong she beleived the correlation to be between atheism and immaturity etc. Still, she upset several of the presumably rational and calm people who post here. Razib; blacks haven't just been called ugly here, but stupid too. To most people this is far more insulting than petulant, etc. There are two sides to this coin. It is almost impossible to not feel included when a non-group member accuses your group of undesirable traits (and feelings of loyalty are involved even if one doesn't feel included, as well as feelings of injustice at the inevitability of being stereotyped) AND it is almost impossible not to stereotype once correlations are acknowledged. P.S. I have been an atheist, a libertarian, and a role-playing fanatic, and currently consider myself a mystic and an adherent to one of the above-mentioned "nebulous theologies". I would say that the identified traits of atheist/libertarian/role-players are probably primarily a result of anger at having so much of their life wasted by adult authority who they rightly disdained. Hostile to authority, they lack the desire for authority that encourages many people to project the kindly father onto the universe as a whole or onto a government. I also think that our society should get over this idea of a "maturity continum". Immature is an insane insult. Neotany is a defining human trait, and appears to me to be stronger in the more intelligent. There is even some evidence for this belief relating to mitochondrial metabolism and cross-talk interference in brain activity.

None? Not much, but I thought that it was significant among prostitutes and possibly other extremely sexually active people. I'm sure that I have heard the figure of a 1% male to female transmission rate and a smaller (.2%?) female to male rate. Still, the field is full of disinformation so I can't be sure.
By the way, I think that re-testing is in inadequate estimate of the reliablilty of SATs. The issue is their correlation to other IQ tests. I had perfect PSAT and SAT scores, but my IQ only tested in the 150s when I was a kid and should have declined further by the time I was 16. (childhood scores are higher)

Singer's hypocracy is heroic. He IS human, but he conciously sets himself up for ridicule by promoting standards that he believes in, whether or not he is able to live up to them. Think of the conversation in "The Diamond Age". To me, Singer the son resembles Jefferson the slave owner. In fact, I'll write a poem praising him.

Frankly, while racial instability isn't negligable, it's no substantial part of the overall instability.
What Americal WAS only lasted for four score and seven years. What it became after that lasted two score and thirteen (until the income tax). Everything since then is the predictable degeneration to mob rule, but some semblence of freedom probably has at least a full lifetime left, so let's eat drink and be merry, at least, unless we have kids.

While I find the scientific case for HBD compelling, I do have to admit that I think that campaigning for a more widespread acceptance of (or even knowledge of in the US) this fact is foolish. We're very level-headed people, and can avoid lynch mobs, but most of the world is NOT. Also, there is such a slippery slope here. Human genetic selection and alteration is already here to some degree, and is not yet illegal. Once it becomes commercially available on a large scale it will be illegal in most countries, but surely not in all countries, and especially not in Thailand, which has good private medicine and loose morals in almost all respects (I have seen bioethics polls of Thais, almost anything goes). Russians are probably the same way, and are poorer. What's the cost of a trip to Asia compared to ten points or more of expected IQ for your kids. Two powerful techniques are available. The first is pre-implantation genetic selection, which will be Much more useful in a decade once we have analyzed the human genome project and Much less invasive and more powerful after two decades, when cloned ovaries provide arbitrary numbers of oocytes, for automated combination with sperm and automated analysis in large MEMS arrays. The second is the actual addition of novel genes. This can now be done safely and reliable by adding genes to a solution of washed sperm, shaking, and centrifuging to separate the heavier sperm, with their added genes. It is safe because the genes don't integrate themselves into the middle of existing genes, potentially causing defects, as older techniques did. OTOH, experiments with any new gene are intrinsically unsafe and will inevitably involve some unforseen side-effects.

They appear to be taken up actively. This may make evolutionary sense as the only way for the y chromosome to get the benefits of sexual reproduction in terms of rapid evolution. I would search New Scientist's archive for the words, sperm, centrifuge, wash, gene insertion, and italian. Possibly also for 25%. I interpreted wash as mix with water and shake, possibly with an enzyme that removes interferon.
