very tentative, and I don't think this solves very much, but it is a step in the right direction. Here is the introduction:
Chimpanzees lack key parts of a language gene that is critical for human speech, say researchers. The finding may begin to explain why only humans use spoken language.
Language is obviously a rather complex multifaceted trait-but perhaps a piece of the jigsaw has been filled in on the genomic level? Only time will tell....
