How is it that hordes of people can inhabit the "Reality-Based Community" and yet act like ignorant, superstitious villagers marching with their torchlights to the home of the the devil possessed child.

Do these denizens of the "Reality-Based Community" know how to read? I thought they were the enlightened ones who compared themselves favorably to the knuckle-dragging, closeminded church goers on the Right of the political spectrum.

First, a man is forced to resign his job for using proper English:

The director of D.C. Mayor Anthony A. Williams's constituent services office resigned after being accused of using a racial slur, the mayor's office said yesterday.

David Howard, head of the Office of Public Advocate, said he used the word "niggardly" in a Jan. 15 conversation about funding with two employees.

"I used the word 'niggardly' in reference to my administration of a fund," Howard said in a written statement yesterday. "Although the word, which is defined as miserly, does not have any racial connotations, I realize that staff members present were offended by the word.

Then, a commentator in the Holiest of Holies is taken to task and accused of being in touch his his inner Klansman for using the word snigger.

It's a good thing that those who are "in touch with reality" didn't have access to this poor fellow's contact information for I'm sure they would have helped him along in his re-education quite willingly. Where's the GULAG when you really need it?

However, when a poster at Red State used the word "Media Whore" to describe the protest tactics of a greiving mother of a fallen soldier, Cindy Sheehan, all hell was unleashed upon him because the inquisitors couldn't distinguish the difference between "Media Whore" and "Whore."

First, my voicemail at the office filled up. Then the office email system exploded with moonbats. Then some guy named Bill McColl called the house while my wife was home and left a lengthy diatribe on the answering machine. His voice mail was nicer than his email.

Now this from some anonymous sicko.

During the war in Yugoslavia, a squad of eight Serbs captured a famous Muslim soccer player, his wife and their two young daughters.

The chained the player to a radiator pipe and sliced off his eyelids. Then, they repeatedly raped his wife and daughters, aged six and nine.

When all eight Serbs were could no longer come, they gutted the mother and children as though they were, say, trout and let them bleed to death.

The soccer player begged them to kill him, but they laughed and released him to wander the country.

This is what I wish for you and your family.

Note the lack of class with which they try to muzzle those braying at the moon - they can't let their reprimand stand on its own, note how they didn't even have the class to apologize, and instead we see the need to re-energize the mob to target the buffoons O'Reilly and Malkin for their sins.

We have seen Bill O'Reilly and Michelle Malkin stoop to smearing a grieving mother, whose son, Casey Sheehan, died in Iraq. And the very fringe Right blogs stop at nothing. Add Red State to the fringe list:

If you're a member of the "Reality Based Community" do you really need the sugar with the cod-liver oil? Is it so hard to swallow the thought of issuing a reprimand and an apology to stand alone and apart from another call to attack?
