Party like a Persian

MTV Not Involved With ‘Jersey Shore’ Imitations:

For the show he calls the “Persian Version,” his casting company wrote: “If you are at least 21 years old, appear younger than 30, and are outrageous, outspoken and a proud Persian-American, then Doron Ofir Casting and 495 Productions, the team who brought you ‘Jersey Shore,’ are looking for you!”

On Jersey Shore all the cast members were at least nominal Catholics (though not all were Italian American), so there was a unanimity of religious presuppositions which stood in sharp contrast to the forced pluralism evident in The Real World series. This is going to be difficult for Persian Version if they get a representative group of Iranian Americans. Rather, perhaps they can appeal to a common shared value of the need for Latoya Jackson face (the one Nowruz I’ve attended had a lot of that).
