The Pleistocene was more interesting than we think

Late Pleistocene/Early Holocene sites in the montane forests of New Guinea yield early record of cassowary hunting and egg harvesting:

Eggshell is an understudied archaeological material with potential to clarify past interactions between humans and birds. We apply an analytical method to legacy collections of Late Pleistocene to mid-Holocene cassowary eggshell and demonstrate that early foragers in the montane rainforests of New Guinea preferentially collected eggs in late stages of embryonic growth. This finding suggests that foragers regulated the exploitation of cassowaries and may have hatched eggs to rear chicks. The montane rainforests of New Guinea may thus present the earliest known evidence of human management of avian breeding.

  1. I did not know what a cassowary was. So I looked it up. Those things are big. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cassowary

“As for eating the cassowary, it is supposed to be quite tough. Australian administrative officers stationed in New Guinea were advised that it “should be cooked with a stone in the pot: when the stone is ready to eat, so is the cassowary””

They also seem to be quite bad tempered: “Cassowaries have a reputation for being dangerous to people and domestic animals. During World War II, American and Australian troops stationed in New Guinea were warned to steer clear of them. … The inner or second of the three toes is fitted with a long, straight, murderous nail which can sever an arm or eviscerate an abdomen with ease. There are many records of natives being killed by this bird.”

“Another human death due to a cassowary was recorded in Florida on April 12, 2019. The bird’s owner, a 75-year-old man who had raised the animal, was apparently clawed to death after he fell to the ground.”

  2. Curious if this group has ever viewed the gang over at Suspicious 0bservers (yes a zero instead of an O). They have a themtube channel. In short, climate eon cycles are driven by the earth’s transit across the galactic “current sheet”, a region of neutral polarity. The weakening galactic polarity connects with weakening solar polarity which decreases terrestrial polarity. The magnetic field weakens at the solar and planetary level. The solar system is then exposed to a far greater amount interstellar electrical currents, highly charged cosmic particles and dust that both the earth’s and sun’s magnetic fields usually deflect when they are strong and in regions of higher galactic polarity. The dust pours into the center of the solar system, surrounding the sun causing a pressure build and a “micro-nova”. The sun doesn’t destroy itself but expels the outer shell of dust and gas in a recurrent explosion. The interstellar electrical currents also pour through the earth’s core and mantle causing it to become more fluid. As we pass through the galactic current sheet the poles join at a point near the equator then form a new pole on the opposite side. Since the earth’s interior is more fluid, as the poles realign to their new position the earth flips 90 deg. This is obviously a giant catastrophe that occurs on a recurrent 6-12K cycle which, these adherents claim, can be observed historically in cultural artifacts (flood legends like Noah and other cultures), the fossil record, magnetic geology and a number of other phenomena. Predictions include ongoing observed changes to other planets in the solar system as well as observed recurrent micro-novas on stars in a line between our solar system and the galactic core. Supposedly TPTB knows this, covered it up, possibly with dodgy dark matter/energy science and muh globull warming. Normie media reports the earth’s and sun’s magnetic fields are already collapsing and this process is accelerating. So, we may all be doomed, our kids more likely so and their kids almost certainly. Of course, minorities will be hardest hit. Have a nice day.
